On 23rd october President Ciampi signed the law repealing the Constitutional Prohibition against male members of the House of Savoy from entering Italy and allowing Prince Victor Emmanuel and his family to return to Italy; by Constitutional Law No 1, 2002, dated October 23rd, published on October 26th in the Official Gazette of the State. By this law the Crown Prince was to return to Italy on November 10th, 2002.
